From the Principal
Greetings,
Welcome to The George Washington Middle School homepage. As one of this institution’s educators, let me invite you to our school of learning. We are on a mission to inspire students as they become responsible world citizens by pursuing excellence through life-long learning. Our VISION at GWMS is as follows:
We the Stakeholders of George Washington Middle School are committed to providing a positive influence in a safe and nurturing environment by setting high expectations for student success.
It is through our vision that we recognize the importance of our commitment to our students. As we embark on this journey, we also recognize how truly blessed we are to be given this endeavor. GWMS teachers have been working very closely with their students by providing them TEKS-based instruction guided by the Scope & Sequence which has been provided by the UISD's Instructional Department. Our students have also been doing their part by participating in classroom instruction and by attending after-school tutorials.
As the school year continues, I invite all parents to be involved in their child's education whether it is at the school setting, or at home. Check their homework; ask about their classes, teachers, etc. Remember that student success depends on student, staff and parent involvement. I invite you to visit our campus and become part of a community that is making a difference each and every day.
Yours in the interest of students,
David H. Gonzalez, GWMS EducatorDavid Homar Gonzalez
