A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL:
Dear Washington Middle School Students and Parents,
The second six weeks is completed and the holiday season is fast approaching. Our Bobcat students have done well academically and have now taken two CBAs (Curriculum Based Assessements) up to now. Our CBA tests are a gauge as to how well our students are learning the core curriculum and they determine what areas in which the students still need some work in. We encourage you as parents to stay in constant contact with your child's teachers, check class pages, and even sign up for the UISD parent portal by which you can monitor grades on a daily basis.
We would like to thank our parents for sending your children to school every day. Our attendance rate was 97% for the first six weeks. We remind you that classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and the last bell rings at 3:30 p.m. Part of a school's report card from TEA is the attendance rate and at this time WMS is doing great!
The holiday season is upon us and it is a time of joy, family and reflection. The past twelve weeks that I've spent at WMS have been a wonderful experience for me. WMS is a special place where students are motivated and community support is strong. All of us at WMS want only the best for our students. We strive daily to enhance students academically and socially so that they are well prepared for high school and ultimately post high school life.
On behalf of everyone at WMS we wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving full of love and laughter.
In the best interest of our WMS students,
Washington Middle School
